Audioboom Surpasses $325M In Creator Payouts As Video Podcasting Drives Growth
Global podcast company Audioboom reports surpassing $325 million in payments to podcast creators worldwide, highlighting its expanding role in the creator economy as video podcast consumption accelerates across platforms.
Audioboom has doubled its video revenue in the first half of 2025, with video now accounting for 13% of its overall business. More than 60% of Audioboom creators now produce video podcasts, and the network hosts 12 of the top 100 video podcasts in the U.S., according to Podscribe data cited by the company.
“As podcasting continues to expand across both audio and video, Audioboom stands strongly at the center of this evolution,” Stuart Last, Audioboom CEO, said in a press release.
This growth aligns with broader industry shifts identified in a recent Sounds Profitable report, which shows changing audience expectations around format. Only 21% of respondents now expect podcasts to be audio-only, down from 26% in 2024. On Spotify, 47% of users consume podcasts with video less than 25% of the time, compared to only 22% of YouTube users. Conversely, 34% of YouTube podcast consumers watch video 76-100% of the time.
Creator Economy Impact
Over the past decade, Audioboom reports helping more than 8,000 podcast creators monetize their content. The company’s Premium Advertising Program connects brands with hosts for endorsement campaigns, while its Showcase product provides a dynamic ad marketplace.
“By helping ‘No Such Thing As A Fish’ turn a profit, Audioboom has helped us to put more time into the show,” said the team behind the popular podcast, which is part of Audioboom’s network.
Ranked as the fifth largest podcast publisher in the U.S. by Edison Research, Audioboom’s shows are downloaded 125 million times monthly by more than 40 million unique listeners worldwide. The company’s content portfolio includes official Formula 1 podcasts, “True Crime Obsessed,” “The Tim Dillon Show,” and “The Cycling Podcast.”
The monetization achievement comes as weekly podcast consumption reaches 6.3 hours per listener in 2025, up from 6.0 hours in 2024, with 44% of listeners reporting increased podcast consumption compared to the previous year, according to Sounds Profitable.
