VidCon has announced a programming partnership with Lighthouse Edutainment ahead of its annual Anaheim event, scheduled for June 25-27 at the Anaheim Convention Center. The collaboration will bring curated panels and activations across all three of VidCon’s programming tracks, with a focus on social media’s influence on mental health among Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences.
Lighthouse Edutainment, a multimedia company founded by Antony Gordon and initially backed by Ron Burkle’s The Yucaipa Companies, produces entertainment and educational content addressing social and cultural issues.
The partnership will cover topics including emotional well-being, dopamine-driven platform design, cyberbullying, creator burnout, and the psychological pressures associated with online identity and validation.
Programming Across Three Tracks
The collaboration spans VidCon’s Industry, Fan, and Creator tracks. On the Industry track, E! Founder Larry Namer will participate in a fireside chat with Gordon, and a separate panel will address social media addiction’s effects on young people’s mental health. Participants include Jen Libby, founder and CEO of Promly; Dr. Liz Sweigart, co-founder of diVine Video; Shelby Edwards, a Gen Z consultant; and Marc Berkman, CEO of the Organization for Social Media Safety.
The Fan track will feature a panel with UFC veteran Jared Gordon, NBA veteran CJ Miles, and Drew Franklin, Vice President of NBA Player Engagement, examining mental health pressures facing professional athletes amid heightened social media scrutiny.
The Creator track will include sessions on social media algorithms and the role of AI tools in music and content production. Grammy-nominated artist and producer Maejor will appear alongside Jared Gutstadt, founder and CEO of Rebel Audio, and Rosie Nguyen, Director of Creator Partnerships at Suno.
“Our partnership with VidCon represents an opportunity to engage directly with creators, families, educators, and young audiences in a way that is both culturally relevant and solution-oriented,” Gordon said.
Sarah Tortoreti, Vice President of VidCon, said the programming aims to equip attendees to approach digital life with “greater balance, mindfulness, and intention.”
VidCon, founded by John and Hank Green in 2010, joined FAN EXPO in 2024. Tickets for the Anaheim event are available at vidcon.com/anaheim.
