CNN and digital media company Jubilee Media will co-host a town hall with Texas Senate candidate Rep. James Talarico on October 14 at 8 p.m. ET, live from Dallas. CNN anchor Erin Burnett will moderate the event, which marks Jubilee’s first partnership with a traditional news network.
Talarico will take questions from Burnett and a live audience of Texas voters who intend to vote in the November midterms, drawn from Democrats, Republicans, and independents. Republican candidate Ken Paxton has also been invited to participate. The event will air live on CNN and stream for All Access and pay TV subscribers, then post to Jubilee’s YouTube channel after the broadcast.
The companies frame the partnership as an extension of two different traditions meeting in the same format. CNN has run candidate town halls throughout its history as part of its campaign coverage. Jubilee, the digital media company behind viral conversation formats including “Surrounded,” “Middle Ground” and “Odd One Out,” has built an audience of more than 380 million monthly views largely without legacy news partners, reaching viewers who skew younger than CNN’s core audience.
Talarico is not new to the creator-driven side of political media. He appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast in July 2025, an appearance Rogan capped by telling him to run for president. That booking came amid debate over Democrats’ approach to major independent interview platforms, following Kamala Harris’s decision not to sit for Rogan during the 2024 campaign, a choice her former digital director later called a missed opportunity.
Talarico’s Senate run has since put him in front of both a legacy anchor’s desk and a creator-built audience within the same campaign, a split increasingly common for candidates competing for attention outside cable news alone.
