LinkedIn to Require Advance Scheduling for All Live Streams Starting June

LinkedIn has announced that it will require all live events to be scheduled in advance beginning June 22, 2026, ending the platform’s existing option for spontaneous, unscheduled broadcasts.

Under the new policy, users will no longer be able to go live without prior scheduling. LinkedIn’s Help Center notes that users can still schedule an event “just minutes” before going live, preserving some flexibility for short-notice broadcasts. The platform states the change is intended to make LinkedIn Live “simpler, more discoverable, and more impactful.”

What Remains Available

LinkedIn Live continues to support two broadcast pathways: third-party broadcast tools, with preferred partners including Restream, Socialive, StreamYard, and Switcher Studio, and custom RTMP ingest for advanced broadcasters using software such as OBS, Elemental, or Zoom. All LinkedIn Live streams are recorded and remain publicly accessible on a broadcaster’s profile or Page after the stream concludes.

LinkedIn did not announce changes to eligibility criteria for LinkedIn Live access, which remains subject to the platform’s existing requirements for members and Pages.

The policy shift follows a period of growth in LinkedIn’s events activity. In October 2025, LinkedIn Chief Operating Officer Daniel Shapero reported a 24% quarter-over-quarter increase in the number of shared events on the platform.
