Owl & Co. to Host Vertical Media Summit in Los Angeles This June

Media consulting firm Owl & Co. will host the Vertical Media Summit on June 3, 2026, at W Hollywood in Los Angeles, gathering senior operators, investors, and builders in entertainment, media, and technology for a half-day ticketed event running from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The summit follows an invitation-only Short Drama Business Summit that Owl & Co. convened in December 2025, which drew senior executives from major studios, talent agencies, dedicated vertical video apps, tech platforms, and content investors.

Founder Hernan Lopez framed vertical video as a distinct media category in a LinkedIn post announcing the event. “Film was the first audiovisual language. TV was the second. Vertical video is the third; and it’s worth $100B+,” Lopez wrote.

Structured discussions will cover the business of vertical video, including in-app purchases, subscriptions, and advertising, as well as microdramas, vertical news and sports, platform versus studio economics, AI-driven production efficiency, and global markets. The program includes a welcome lunch, keynote, panels, a fireside chat, and a cocktail hour.

Recent consumer research commissioned by Media.net found that 73% of U.S. respondents watch short-form video multiple times per day, and 81% view it primarily in vertical format on smartphones.

Ticket sales open soon, with pre-registration available at verticalmediasummit.com.
