Meta’s Instagram has introduced a significant update to its music sharing capabilities. Users can now listen to audio previews of Spotify songs shared to Instagram Stories without leaving the platform, the company announced.

Previously, when users shared Spotify tracks to Stories, viewers would only see a visual representation with a link to the streaming service. The new feature enables immediate audio playback directly within Instagram.

As TechCrunch notes, this enhancement follows Instagram’s recent addition of Spotify integration to Notes, implemented several weeks ago. The Notes feature now enables users to stream songs directly, allowing followers to discover the music they’re listening to in real-time.

Additional Updates

Alongside the audio preview feature, Instagram is introducing new typography options for Stories and Reels. The initial release features a limited-time font inspired by singer Rosalía’s handwriting, complete with special symbols activated by typing specific character combinations.

These developments build on Meta and Spotify’s history of collaboration, which previously included the launch of a Facebook mini-player for Spotify streaming in 2021.
