Newsletter platform beehiiv announced seven new features at its first Winter Release Event, expanding beyond email publishing into commerce and website creation tools.
Digital Products Launch Enables Direct Sales
According to a blog post, the platform now allows creators to sell digital products directly through beehiiv without third-party tools. The feature supports three product types: links for website access, memberships or affiliate offers; files including guides, templates and research reports; and time-based offerings for coaching or consulting sessions.
beehiiv charges 0% commission on product sales. The company makes all products available to users on paid plans. Creators can integrate products into websites, emails and automated sequences.
The platform plans to add order tracking, scheduling capabilities, refund options, earnings dashboards and platform-wide integrations in future updates.
AI Website Builder Operates Through Chat Interface
beehiiv released an AI-powered website builder that creates pages through conversational prompts. The tool builds on the existing Website Builder, allowing users to describe desired elements or upload screenshots for the AI to generate webpages.
The system offers two functions: AI Chat for building full pages or editing sections in real-time, and AI Custom Elements for creating specific widgets such as stock tickers or scoreboards. Users can inspect and edit HTML output or continue refining through additional prompts before switching to the drag-and-drop interface.
The AI Website Builder becomes available across all beehiiv plans with varying credit limits.
Native Podcast Pages Consolidate Audio Content
The platform also introduced native podcast functionality for beehiiv websites. Creators sync their podcasts to automatically publish each episode as a dedicated webpage featuring an audio player, cover art, title, description, transcript with timestamps, and integrations with YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
The feature creates a library of all previous episodes on the creator’s website. beehiiv limits native podcast pages to users on its Max plan.
Website Analytics and Link in Bio Tools Added
beehiiv launched Website Analytics with real-time tracking of site interactions and traffic sources. The system provides filtering options by location, device, operating system, and referral source. Basic analytics are available on all plans, while paid plans gain access to advanced metrics.
The company also introduced a native Link in Bio tool that is fully integrated into beehiiv websites and uses the same theme system as the site builder. Users can start with professionally designed templates or create custom layouts, with functionality that connects to Digital Products, Podcasts, and Website Analytics for unified tracking of traffic, engagement, and revenue.
Automation Suite Receives Performance Updates
Finally, beehiiv updated its Automation Suite with new triggers and analytics capabilities. The redesigned builder allows users to view subscribers as they move through each automation step, remove specific subscribers at any point, and track performance across entire funnels.
The system enables creators to embed digital products on homepages and trigger automated sequences when visitors sign up. Automations remain available only to paid plan users.
