Whalar Group Names Eddie Renard As Company’s First Chief Operating Officer

Whalar Group has appointed Eddie Renard as its first-ever Chief Operating Officer. Renard, who previously served as President of People & Operations for more than four years, will oversee global operations across the company’s seven-business ecosystem.

In his new role, Renard will manage people and culture, systems, business affairs, and infrastructure as the company moves forward. His appointment comes during a period of growth for the creator marketing company, which recently secured investment valuing the business at $400 million.

“This company is so much more than a workplace, it’s a community of talented, passionate people who genuinely care about the work we do and the way we do it,” Renard said in a statement. “I’m honored to take on the COO role and help ensure we scale in a way that preserves the culture, creativity, and trust that make Whalar Group such a special place to be.”

Building Momentum

The executive appointment follows several strategic moves by Whalar Group, including the $20 million acquisition of The Business of Creativity, co-founded by advertising veteran Sir John Hegarty. The company has also strengthened its leadership team, recently promoting Jo Cronk and Emma Harman to Co-CEOs of its creator agency.

Within the UK division, Jessica Womersley and Shannon Watkin were appointed to the newly created joint role of Co-Head of Client Accounts following significant client acquisitions, including being named Agency of Record by Virgin Atlantic.

Neil Waller, co-CEO and co-founder of Whalar Group, noted that Renard “has an extraordinary ability to bring clarity and warmth into every situation” and will “play a pivotal role in shaping how we grow while staying true to the culture that defines us.”

Whalar Group has secured backing from investors including Salesforce founder Marc Benioff, Shopify, and Hollywood producer Neal H. Moritz. The company now comprises a team of over 300 people worldwide operating across seven businesses, including a creator agency, talent management company, and physical creator campuses.
