Whalar UK Appoints Dual Leadership After Brand Expansion
Whalar, the creator agency within Whalar Group, has promoted Jessica Womersley and Shannon Watkin to the newly created joint role of Co-Head of Client Accounts in the UK. The appointments follow significant client acquisitions, including being named Agency of Record by Virgin Atlantic, and expanded partnerships with Diageo and eBay.
Womersley, who has been with Whalar for six years, and Watkin, who joined more than three years ago, both previously served as Senior Directors. Together, they now head the agency’s global client services function, with a focus on strengthening long-term partnerships and driving brand growth.
“Jessica and Shannon have demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic vision,” said Emma Harman, co-CEO of Whalar. “They both have a depth of creator marketing expertise, which makes them fantastic partners for our clients.”
The promotions come at a time of strong momentum for Whalar Group. The company recently secured backing from investors including Salesforce founder Marc Benioff, Shopify, and Hollywood producer Neal H. Moritz, placing the company valuation at $400 million.
Expanding Creator Economy Ecosystem
Whalar Group has evolved into a multi-faceted enterprise comprising seven companies, including a full-service creator agency operating in more than 40 markets, “The Lighthouse” creator campuses with production facilities, and a talent management arm.
The group recently broadened its portfolio with the $20 million acquisition of The Business of Creativity, the media company co-founded by advertising veteran Sir John Hegarty. This marks Whalar’s seventh acquisition as it continues to expand its creator economy footprint.
Reflecting on the company’s momentum, Watkin wrote on LinkedIn: “The Creator Economy has never stood still, but right now, it feels like it’s flying. And we’re just getting started.”
