TikTok Joins MrBeast, Mark Rober’s TeamWater Campaign, Donates $1.5 Million
TikTok is launching its partnership with creators MrBeast and Mark Rober on TeamWater with a $1.5 million donation to WaterAid. The global campaign aims to provide clean water access to 2 million people worldwide. The initiative seeks to raise $40 million by August 31 to fund sustainable water solutions through WaterAid and other partners.
The campaign brings together content creators from 84 countries with a combined audience of 2 billion followers. Notable participants include Kai Cenat, Nick DiGiovanni, Jimmy Kimmel, Gordon Ramsay, Hank Green, and Fede Vigevani, among others.
“We’re thrilled to see TikTok creators rally behind MrBeast’s #TeamWater campaign, using their voices and our Donation Sticker, to make a real-world impact,” Ara Yoo Han, Global Head of Social Impact at TikTok, said in the company’s announcement.
MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, raised $2.3 million during the first day of the fundraiser after appearing on Adin Ross’ Kick livestream on August 1. Several creators have made significant contributions, including Ross, xQc, and Trainwrecks each committing $400,000, while Logan Paul, FaZe Banks, and Jynxzi contributed $100,000 each.
Funds primarily benefit WaterAid, which builds community-tailored water infrastructure ranging from solar-powered wells to gravity-fed pipelines. Additional partners include GivePower and the Alok Foundation, implementing projects in rural Kenya and Brazil.
Projects will span multiple countries including Colombia, Bangladesh, Ecuador, Malawi, and Kenya. U.S.-based initiatives include an atmospheric water generator for an assisted living facility in Mississippi and infrastructure improvements in West Virginia.
The campaign also builds on previous environmental initiatives #TeamTrees (2019) and #TeamSeas (2021), which reportedly raised over $50 million collectively.
Platform Integration
TikTok users can support the campaign through the new #TeamWater Donation Sticker, powered by Goodstack. The feature allows users to contribute directly through eligible videos or add the sticker to their own content to raise awareness.
The initiative aligns with TikTok’s broader charitable efforts, including its recently launched “Sunshine Programme” in Europe, which converts user engagement into charitable donations for organizations including WaterAid.
