TikTok Adds ‘LIVE Fan Club’ Feature Amid Surge In Live Streaming
TikTok has introduced a new “LIVE Fan Club” feature as the platform reports 130 million creators worldwide are now broadcasting live content daily. The platform made the announcement at the ongoing Community Fest 2025, a global in-app event running until July 5.
The LIVE Fan Club system enables creators to build dedicated communities around their livestreams while providing new monetization opportunities. Viewers who send ‘Heart Me’ gifts during livestreams are automatically added to a creator’s Fan Club, where they can complete ‘missions’ to earn points and unlock rewards.
Fan Club members receive exclusive perks, including access to private chat rooms, special badges displayed next to usernames, and entrance spotlights when joining livestreams. To maintain membership status, fans must remain active within seven days of a creator’s livestream.
Available missions include watching livestreams, commenting in chat, and sending virtual gifts. Members who complete these tasks can unlock exclusive gifts to send during livestreams and receive level-up celebrations announced during broadcasts.
The platform has expanded its livestreaming initiatives globally through regional campaigns, such as the LIVE Grand Prix in Japan and LIVE Legends events in the Middle East and North Africa.
Growth in Live Commerce
Community Fest serves as a precursor to the larger LIVE Fest 2025, TikTok’s months-long global celebration of LIVE content. The platform continues to enhance its commerce capabilities, recently introducing direct messaging options for livestreamers to generate leads from their broadcasts.
ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, continues to pursue live-stream commerce growth after success with Douyin, the Chinese version of the app, which generates $500 billion in annual sales primarily through live commerce.
