Netflix, TF1 Strike Deal To Integrate French Broadcaster’s Content Into Streaming Platform
Netflix and TF1 Group have announced a distribution partnership that will integrate TF1’s channels and on-demand content directly into the Netflix platform for subscribers in France. The arrangement, set to launch in Summer 2026, allows Netflix members to access TF1’s content without leaving the streaming service.
The deal incorporates TF1’s live channels and on-demand programming from TF1+ as part of existing Netflix subscriptions in France. Viewers gain access to TF1’s popular scripted dramas like “Broceliande” and “Erica,” soap operas including “Demain nous appartient” and “Ici tout commence,” unscripted franchises such as “Koh Lanta” and “The Voice,” plus major live sports broadcasts.
These offerings complement Netflix’s current lineup of French productions like “Lupin” and “Nouvelle École” alongside global series, including the upcoming “Squid Game” Season 3 and “Stranger Things” Season 5.
Strategic Significance
Greg Peters, co-CEO of Netflix, describes the arrangement as a “first-of-its-kind partnership” that combines premium entertainment with enhanced discovery capabilities, giving French consumers “more reasons to come to Netflix every day.”
TF1 Group CEO Rodolphe Belmer notes that the partnership responds to evolving viewing habits, characterized by increasing on-demand consumption and audience fragmentation. He emphasizes the alliance will extend the reach of TF1’s premium content and create new opportunities for advertisers.
