TikTok Adds ‘Bulletin Board’ For Creators To Connect Directly With Fans
TikTok introduces “Bulletin Board,” a new in-app communication tool that allows creators to broadcast messages directly to their followers. The feature, previously in beta testing, is now rolling out globally to creators with at least 50,000 followers who are 18 years or older.

The new tool functions as a one-to-many broadcast channel, allowing creators to post updates, share exclusive content, and build community engagement. Only creators can publish content, while followers can respond with emoji reactions.
“Bulletin board is a one-to-many broadcast channel, making it quick and easy for creators to post news and updates, share exclusive content with their followers, and build thriving communities on TikTok,” the company stated in its announcement.
Creators can establish their bulletin board by navigating to their inbox and selecting the “creation” option. The feature supports text, images, and video content, with additional options for visibility settings. Creators can toggle the “show on profile” setting to control bulletin board visibility and assign a custom name to their channel.
Users can join a creator’s bulletin board by visiting the creator’s profile page and clicking the bulletin board name displayed beneath the creator’s bio. Followers receive inbox notifications for new posts from creators they follow through this feature.
Platform Competition
The introduction mirrors similar features on competing platforms, notably Instagram’s “Broadcast Channels” launched in 2023. Both features enable creators to distribute exclusive content directly to their audience while maintaining engagement within the platform ecosystem.
Early adopters during the beta phase included major publishers such as People Magazine and sports organizations such as the Paris Saint-Germain football team.
The feature aligns with TikTok’s broader strategy of enhancing creator tools for audience engagement. In May, the company introduced direct messaging options for live streamers, enabling real-time communication between creators and viewers.
Content Moderation and Safety
TikTok emphasizes that all bulletin board content must adhere to its Community Guidelines, which are enforced through both automated systems and human review. Standard platform safety features, including muting, blocking, and reporting tools, remain available within the bulletin board environment.
The company notes that the feature is designed to help creators “engage, create, and grow their communities” while maintaining content standards.
