Steven Bartlett’s Flightcast Adds Apple Podcasts Video Support, HLS Publishing for All Customers

Flightcast, the podcast hosting and analytics platform co-founded by “Diary of a CEO” creator Steven Bartlett and developer Rox Codes, has added full support for video on Apple Podcasts and HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) video publishing. The features are available immediately to all existing customers at no additional hosting or bandwidth cost.

Podcasters on the platform can now publish video directly to Apple Podcasts without altering their existing upload workflow and can switch between audio and video formats. Flightcast has pre-processed all existing episodes on the platform, allowing shows to activate video on Apple Podcasts with a single click and without re-uploading or re-encoding files.

“Flightcast has always been the video-first hosting platform,” said Rox Codes, who serves as the platform’s CEO. “Video podcasting is becoming essential, but most creators don’t realize there’s much more to it than just publishing. Delivering seamless video experiences to Apple Podcasts and across platforms requires advanced technology like HLS streaming, which ensures smooth playback no matter the connection.”

The Flightcast announcement follows Apple’s February introduction of a new video podcast experience on Apple Podcasts, with a full rollout planned for spring across iPhone, iPad, Apple Vision Pro, and the web. The update allows users to switch between watching and listening from the same feed, use picture-in-picture mode, and download video episodes for offline viewing.

Storage and Format Specs

Flightcast supports 4K video resolution, a 50GB file size limit per episode, and no length restrictions. Storage plans start at 3 terabytes, scale to 6TB at the mid-tier, and reach 15TB at the top tier. The platform positions these specifications against competing services that have introduced video tiers with 720p resolution caps and length restrictions of 30 minutes or less.

“A lot of platforms are pushing video, but with asterisks,” said Seth Silves, CEO at Story On Media, a podcast strategy and production agency. “720p only, 30-minute caps, extra charges. Flightcast is the only platform that continues to enable that.”

Dynamic Video Ads

The update also introduces support for dynamic video ads. Podcasters can create their own dynamic video campaigns or continue using dynamic programmatic audio. Audio ads will display with a still image in the video player, preserving existing monetization setups for shows transitioning to video.

Flightcast launched in October 2025 as part of Bartlett’s broader media holding company, Steven.com, which closed an eight-figure funding round at a $425 million valuation the same month. Investors include Slow Ventures, Apeiron Investment Group, Gary Vaynerchuk, and Alex Hormozi, among others.

Video on Apple Podcasts and HLS support is live and accessible from the Flightcast dashboard.
