Snapchat Rolls Out Quick Cut Tool For Automated Video Editing

Snapchat has introduced Quick Cut, a Lens-powered video creation tool that transforms photos and clips from users’ Memories into beat-synced videos. The feature launches on iOS with plans to expand to additional surfaces and Android devices.

According to the announcement, Quick Cut allows users to select multiple photos or clips and instantly preview a rendered video, removing the previous editing workflow. The tool automatically applies a track from Snapchat’s Sounds library and syncs it to selected clips. Users can customize their creations by exploring the Lens carousel or browsing additional tracks through the Sounds feature.

The company provides several entry points for Quick Cut. Users can initiate the tool directly from Memories and Camera Roll. The feature also enables users to unlock and use Quick Cut when viewing another user’s creation, allowing them to insert their own media into a shared Quick Cut.

Expansion of In-App Creator Tools

Quick Cut joins Snapchat’s suite of creator tools designed for in-app content production. Earlier in 2025, the company introduced Timeline Editor, now available in Director Mode, which provides creators with additional precision when editing clips.

“Creating expressive videos should be fast, fun, and accessible to everyone,” the company states in its announcement. The tool targets both everyday content creation and Spotlight posts, enabling users to capture, edit, and share content without leaving the application.
