EA Launches ‘Battlefield’ Creator Program With Challenge-Based Rewards System

Electronic Arts Inc. is expanding its creator economy strategy with the launch of a dedicated program for content creators focused on its “Battlefield” franchise, set to begin alongside the game’s Season 1 on October 28.

The “Battlefield” Creator Program introduces a challenge-based rewards system where participants can earn points through both in-game performance and content creation activities. These points can be redeemed for digital items, merchandise, cash payments, and exclusive experiences that are not available to regular players.

Entry requirements include meeting at least one of several audience thresholds: 50 average concurrent viewers on livestreams, 3,000 average views on long-form video content, 5,000 average views on short-form content, or 2,000 followers on any social platform. Applicants must be at least 18 years old with an active EA account and a “Battlefield” account.

Creator Engagement Strategy

The program centers around three core components: rewards acquisition, community building, and product development feedback loops. Participants gain access to a private Discord server for direct collaboration with other creators and EA representatives.

“This program is designed to build and grow with our creators and their communities,” EA stated in its announcement. “Our goal is for this program to be the epicenter of creator content that can evolve alongside creator input and experience.”

This community-centered approach reflects lessons learned from previous releases. Rebecka Coutaz, VP General Manager of “Battlefield’s” European studios, told BBC Newsbeat that early fan involvement through community playtests for “Battlefield 6” generated “explosively positive” feedback, indicating a strategic shift toward greater player engagement.

The initiative arrives as “Battlefield 6” demonstrates strong market performance, with data analyst firm Alinea Analytics estimating seven million copies sold within three days of release, generating approximately $350 million in revenue. According to the same source, 55% of the game’s player base is on Steam, where it reached 750,000 concurrent players on launch day.

The initiative comes as EA navigates a significant transition period following recent news of the company’s agreement to be acquired by a Saudi Arabia-led group for $55 billion.

Global Availability

The program is available worldwide, with exceptions for regions under regulatory restrictions, including Iran, North Korea, Russia, Crimea, Syria, Sudan, South Sudan, and Cuba. EA notes the program may operate with limited capacity in certain other geographical regions.

Applications remain open on an ongoing basis with no submission deadline. The company states rejected applicants may reapply after 30 days if they meet eligibility requirements. According to EA, applications are reviewed based on “culture fit, brand affinity, community presence, and relevant content” with decisions typically provided within one week.
