AGC Studios Launches Creator Division to Turn Digital IP Into Film, TV Franchises

AGC Studios, the production and financing company behind more than 50 films and TV series, has launched “AGC Digital,” a new division dedicated to partnering with digital creators to develop their content and audiences into entertainment franchises.

As reported by Variety, the unit will draw on AGC’s financing, production, marketing, and international distribution capabilities to build and scale creator-originated IP across unscripted, scripted, kids & family, native digital, and microdrama formats.

Jared Jacobs will lead the division as SVP, AGC Digital, reporting to Joel Zimmer, President of AGC Unwritten. Jacobs joins from Warner Bros. Unscripted Television, where he worked on digital strategy, development, and creator partnerships. He previously served as VP of Development at Night Studios, where he developed projects with creators including MrBeast, Kai Cenat, Ryan Trahan, Sam & Colby, Moriah Elizabeth and Zach King, and has also held roles at Blumhouse Television, Mark Wahlberg’s Unrealistic Ideas, Endeavor Content and WME.

“So many of the most exciting storytellers of this generation are building huge audiences on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, but, for all but a very small number, the path into mainstream feature film and premium TV remains elusive,” said AGC founder Stuart Ford. “AGC Digital changes that. We’re giving creators what they’ve never had: a genuine independent studio partner, with the financing, production muscle and global distribution reach to take their voices into feature films, scripted series, and unscripted formats without losing what made their audiences love them or control of their own IP.”

Jacobs framed the division’s approach around partnership rather than extraction. “We are not here to borrow their audience; we are here to build something valuable with them,” he said.

The same day, WME introduced “Creator Labs,” an in-house digital operations team within its Digital Division that helps creators manage channels, syndicate content and build media businesses while retaining ownership of their work. The agency has also taken a strategic stake in video strategy firm Astra Media and expanded its creator sales team under Doreen Dinour to secure brand sponsorships for client content.

Together, the two moves point to a convergence between studios and agencies around the same premise: creators building IP and audiences independently need institutional partners for financing and scale, not intermediaries seeking to acquire what they have built. AGC is currently in post-production on Ellie Foumbi’s “Fleur,” starring Halle Berry, and AGC Television recently wrapped production on the Beatles biopic series “Hamburg Days.”
