Talent Management Firm Night Launches Roblox Game Studio

Night, the Dallas-based talent management company that represents creators including Kai Cenat, Sam & Colby, Safiya Nygaard, Hasan Piker and Unspeakable, has launched a Roblox game studio called KUZU. According to Tubefilter, the studio plans to release more than a dozen titles over the next 18 months and has already put out its debut game, “KILLSTREAK!,” a battle royale built around a closing map zone and limited resources that the studio has compared to Fortnite.

KUZU is led by CEO James Purell, a veteran game developer who joined the studio in January. JOGO, the Fortnite and Roblox UGC studio founded in 2023 by creators Andre Rebelo (Typical Gamer) and Chad Mustard (MustardPlays), joined as an investor and strategic partner and is taking a board seat. JOGO is providing capital and operating guidance, while the KUZU team handles building, running, and monetizing the games.

“That means helping pressure-test concepts, mechanics, staffing, and production so the team can move faster and make better decisions without having to learn every lesson the hard way,” Mustard said.

Purell said he approached Night after watching the company invest in Roblox. “I’d already worked with much of the team across branded and original games, so we weren’t assembling strangers,” he said. “We were formalizing a group that already knew how to build together.” In a LinkedIn post announcing the studio, Purell said KUZU was co-founded with Night founder Reed Duchscher and framed the studio’s ambition around originating intellectual property directly on Roblox rather than porting franchises onto the platform after they succeed elsewhere.

“KILLSTREAK!” has reached approximately 25 million visits, with 93,000 favorites and around 500 concurrent players, according to figures reported by Tubefilter.

A Bet Tied to Roblox’s Creator Payouts

Night SVP Nick Brotman, who also sits on JOGO’s board, pointed to Roblox’s creator earnings as the rationale for the move. Roblox paid creators more than $1.5 billion in 2025, up from $923 million in 2024, according to the company’s own reporting. “That tells you this is no longer an experimental economy; it’s a real market with real businesses being built inside it,” Brotman said.

He also referenced the $70 million funding round Night closed in February. “Night raised capital to build companies embedded in internet culture, and Roblox is exactly where we want to be,” he said. “There’s a lot of money to be made here.”

That February raise, which drew investment from StepStone Group, Founders Fund, House Capital, K5 Global and PagsGroup, followed a run of acquisitions for Night, including the Roost Podcast Network and Experiential Supply Co., and came with a stated goal of building and acquiring businesses across gaming, music, sports and live events.
