YouTuber Ben Schneider Signs With CAA Amid LEGO Resale Legal Dispute
Ben Schneider, the YouTube creator known as “Reckless Ben,” has signed with CAA for representation as he remains embroiled in a viral investigation and legal dispute with Utah-based LEGO resale company Bricks & Minifigs.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, CAA described Schneider in a statement as “a pioneer in independent investigative filmmaking,” calling him “a documentary creator and digital media personality whose fearless approach to storytelling has made him one of the most talked about creators on the internet.” The agency said he has “built a worldwide audience that spans millions of viewers across multiple platforms” by combining “investigative journalism, immersive participation, humor, and high-stakes real-world adventures.”
The signing follows Schneider’s YouTube investigation into an 83-year-old man who entered into a consignment agreement for a LEGO Star Wars collection that later went missing. A May 21 video titled “I Tracked Down the Thief Who Stole $200,000 of LEGO” has drawn about 6.5 million views to date, followed by a second video, “I Got Arrested Investigating a LEGO Store.” CAA said the Bricks & Minifigs series overall has generated 28 million views and counting.
The dispute has since produced lawsuits and countersuits involving Schneider, who also faces misdemeanor charges from the American Fork Police Department tied to a December 2025 visit to the Bricks & Minifigs corporate offices with a hidden camera. CAA credited Schneider’s “combination of courage, authenticity, and relentless pursuit of the truth” with transforming him “from an internet creator into a worldwide phenomenon.”
Schneider’s signing extends a run of digital-first additions to CAA’s Creators division, led by Brent Weinstein, which has been expanding its roster as agencies compete to represent online talent across brand partnerships, consumer products, live touring, and other media businesses.
CAA signed Twitch and YouTube streamer Rachell Hofstetter, known as “Valkyrae,” in June; content creator and actress Nailea Devora, who has more than 18 million followers and brand partnerships including Prada, Chanel, and L’Oréal Paris; and Reece Feldman, known online as @guywithamoviecamera, whose entertainment content work includes ties to the Oscars, Emmys, and Golden Globes.
