LinkedIn Rolls Out Network Feed, Creator Dashboard and Paid Consultations in Push Toward Side-Hustle Economy

LinkedIn is introducing a new feed for connections, a redesigned creator dashboard, and paid consultation tools as part of a broader effort to help members build relationships and earn income outside their primary jobs.

According to the company’s announcement, the rollout responds to a shift it is seeing in its own user base: the number of founders on LinkedIn is up 70%, and the share of members holding more than one ongoing position has risen 26% since 2019.

Relationship Tools

LinkedIn is testing a dedicated Network feed that surfaces posts only from a member’s connections and people they follow, rather than the broader algorithmic feed. The test is live in the U.S., India, the UK, and Australia. The company is also rolling out customizable digital business cards globally over the coming months, allowing members to add their own cards to a digital wallet and stay connected with people they meet in person.

Premium subscribers can also add private profile notes to remember how they met someone, what they discussed, and when to reconnect. Post authors can now pin comments to highlight specific contributions to a discussion. LinkedIn cited its own research finding that more than half of Gen Z members are unsure how to turn an introduction into an ongoing professional relationship.

Creator and Monetization Features

More than 80% of LinkedIn creators build content alongside another role, the company said, framing its new tools around that audience. A consolidated creator dashboard, accessible from the mobile profile menu, will roll out globally in the coming weeks, giving creators a single place to track performance and manage content.

LinkedIn is also testing In-Stream Ads, which pay eligible creators when pre-roll video ads run alongside their video content; the test is limited to select U.S. creators and advertisers, with wider access planned later. Separately, Advice Sessions will let eligible members sell 1:1 video consultations directly from their LinkedIn profile, with built-in booking and payment handling. That feature is available now to Business Premium subscribers in the U.S., with additional markets to follow.
