Triton Digital May 2026 U.S. Podcast Ranker: iHeart Audience Network Holds #1 With Over 66M Weekly Downloads

Triton Digital has released its “May 2026 U.S. Podcast Ranker,” covering the period from May 4 through May 31. The report, powered by the company’s IAB Tech Lab-certified Podcast Metrics service, ranks the top 150 U.S. podcasts and top 20 sales networks by average weekly downloads from listeners located in the United States.

iHeart Audience Network retained the top sales network position with 66.7 million average weekly downloads. Audioboom ranked second with 15.4 million, and Cumulus Podcast Network placed third with 3.1 million.

“Stuff You Should Know,” distributed through iHeart Audience Network, moved up one position from April to claim the No. 1 podcast spot. “Pod Save America” (Audioboom) fell one place to No. 2, and “My Favorite Murder with Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark” (iHeart Audience Network) rose one position to rank third.

Notable Movers and Debuts

“Deep Cover” posted the largest rank change in the top 150, surging 81 positions to No. 40 on the iHeart Audience Network. “Small Town Dicks” (Audioboom) climbed 50 spots to No. 100, and “Smash Boom Best” (Lemonada Media) advanced 41 positions to No. 105. “Lovett or Leave It” (Audioboom) gained 33 spots to reach No. 65, while “The Drew Lane Show” (Audioboom) rose 28 positions to No. 50.

On the downside, “Someone Knows Something,” a CBC/Radio-Canada production sold by Acast, dropped 72 positions to No. 140. “Bloomberg Surveillance” (iHeart Audience Network) declined 27 spots to No. 149, and “The Chuck ToddCast” (iHeart Audience Network) fell 27 positions to No. 122.

The May ranker logged six debuts: “Hey Jonas!” (No. 20), “The Girlfriends” (No. 75), “Front Page” (No. 117), “Blood Trails” (No. 146), and “Bussin’ With The Boys” (No. 148), all on iHeart Audience Network, along with “Monsters Among Us” (No. 142) on Audioboom.

Triton Digital also noted in the report that it has retired its monthly “U.S. Top Podcasts” by Weekly Average Users and Top Sales Networks by Weekly Average Users rankers, with June 2025 marking the final active reporting period for those metrics.

Rankings are based on average weekly downloads measured under IAB Podcast Measurement Technical Guidelines Version 2.2. Triton Digital operates in more than 80 countries and produces the ranker in conjunction with its Demos+ audience measurement product, developed in collaboration with Signal Hill Insights.
