TikTok, Apple Music Launch Full-Song Playback, Listening Party Features in Exclusive Partnership
TikTok and Apple Music announced two new features designed to connect music discovery on TikTok with full-length listening: Play Full Song and Listening Party.

Play Full Song
Play Full Song lets Apple Music subscribers listen to complete tracks they discover on TikTok without leaving the app. When a user encounters a song on their For You Page or Sound Detail Page, tapping the Play Full Song button opens an Apple Music player within TikTok. From there, subscribers can continue to a personalized stream of recommended songs, save tracks to Your Music, or add them directly to Apple Music playlists.
The feature is built on Apple’s MusicKit framework, meaning streams are counted and paid within the Apple Music service.
Play Full Song expands on TikTok’s existing Add to Music App feature, which converts TikTok discovery into playlist saves across Apple Music and other streaming services.
“With Play Full Song, Apple Music subscribers can move easily from discovering a track on TikTok to listening to it in full instantly, without breaking the flow,” said Ole Obermann of Apple Music.
Listening Party
The second feature, Listening Party, creates a shared environment where fans can listen to songs by artists in real time, interact with one another, and engage directly with the artist during a session.
“TikTok is where music discovery and culture move at the speed of the community,” said Tracy Gardner, Global Head of Music Business Development at TikTok. “Play Full Song gives fans a seamless way to go from discovery to full-length listening, and Listening Party provides a shared place to experience music together in real time.”
Rollout
Both Play Full Song and Listening Party are rolling out worldwide in the weeks ahead. The partnership launches exclusively through Apple Music.
