Thailand Influencer Awards Spotlights Creator Economy Amid AI Challenges

Thailand’s creator economy, valued at 45 billion baht (~$1.3 billion) in 2024, takes center stage as the Thailand Influencer Awards 2025 prepares to recognize outstanding digital content creators under the theme “Creators of Change – Creators Change the World, Making Waves,” according to The Nation.

The awards ceremony, organized by analytics platform Tellscore, comes as Thailand’s influencer market mirrors global growth trajectories. Tellscore secured backing from major corporations including Thai Life Insurance and ICONSIAM, alongside support from multiple government agencies, highlighting the sector’s growing economic significance.

Suvita Charanwong, CEO and co-founder of Tellscore, identified artificial intelligence as the central challenge facing creators. She emphasized personal branding as the key factor amid the rise of AI.

“The path forward is to coexist with AI in creative ways,” Charanwong said in a statement. “This includes influencers developing their own AI avatars to produce short-form content once or twice weekly, or using AI as a tool to strengthen brand building.”

She noted that transparency about AI-generated content remains essential to maintain consumer trust.

Government Recognizes Economic Impact

Dr. Warin Ratchananusorn from the Digital Economy Promotion Agency emphasized that creators now extend beyond entertainment to drive economic activity across multiple sectors.

“Creators play a vital role in driving Thailand’s economy across multiple sectors – from advancing the creative economy, which has led to new careers, businesses, and a workforce suited to the digital age – to supporting Thai entrepreneurs, particularly SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) and local brands, through social commerce,” Dr. Warin said.

The initiative’s government backing underscores the growing recognition of the creator economy as a sustainable driver of Thailand’s digital economy and cultural influence.
