Roblox Unveils Monthly Subscription Program With Item Discounts, Creator Bonuses
Roblox will launch a new monthly subscription service on April 30 priced at $4.99 per month, offering users discounts on in-game purchases and introducing a set of creator monetization incentives tied to subscriber activity.

According to the announcement, Roblox Plus subscribers receive a 10% discount on in-game items, avatars, and other Robux purchases immediately. Beginning in the third consecutive month of membership, the discount increases to 20%. Additional benefits include unlimited free private servers across supported games, fee-free Robux transfers to other users, and access to avatar item trading, publishing, and selling on the Marketplace.

Roblox will cover the cost of the discounts directly, meaning creators earn the same per-item amount as they do today. “Subscribers can spread the same number of Robux across more items, allowing creators to earn more,” the company stated.
Creator Incentives
The subscription introduces two revenue streams for creators.
First, creators can earn up to 100 Robux for every Roblox Plus subscriber who accumulates 60 or more minutes in a game’s paid private server over 30 days, with payouts covering up to five paid private servers where each subscriber spent the most time.

Second, creators who implement the new PromptRobloxSubscriptionPurchase API receive a bonus of 250 Robux per month for each new subscriber acquired through their game. The bonus applies to the subscriber’s first three months, making the total potential earnings 750 Robux per new subscriber.
Premium Transition
Roblox will stop accepting new sign-ups for its existing Roblox Premium subscription alongside the Roblox Plus launch. Roblox Premium was previously offered as a three-tier subscription priced at $4.99, $9.99, or $19.99 per month. Existing Premium members can continue their memberships and are eligible for a free one-month Roblox Plus trial that stacks on top of their current subscription.
Starting May 30, Roblox will remove the 10% bonus on additional Robux purchases for Premium subscribers and retire the Roblox Premium branding.
Roblox also plans to offer three optional bundles, Plus 500, Plus 1000, and Plus 2000, each pairing a Roblox Plus subscription with a monthly Robux allotment of 500, 1,000, or 2,000, respectively. The platform reports that developers earned over $1 billion in 2025
