Reddit Debuts AI-Powered Max Campaigns For Automated Ad Optimization

Reddit introduced Max Campaigns, an automated advertising product now in beta, designed to optimize campaign settings in real-time using artificial intelligence and the platform’s Reddit Community Intelligence™ system.

According to an official announcement, Max Campaigns automates targeting, creative selection and rotation, placements, and budget allocation. The system uses AI to predict the value of each ad impression and adjust campaign settings without manual intervention.

Reddit tested Max Campaigns with more than 600 advertisers across different industries and business sizes in 2025. The company reports that Brooks Running deployed a Max Campaign for its Ghost 17 running shoe launch, achieving a 37% decrease in cost per click and 27% more clicks during the 21-day campaign without making manual changes.

Split tests comparing Max Campaigns with advertisers’ standard campaigns showed an average 17% lower cost per acquisition and a 27% higher conversion rate, based on 17 tests conducted between June and August 2025, according to the announcement.

Top Audience Personas Feature

Max Campaigns includes Top Audience Personas, a reporting feature that uses AI to cluster campaign audiences into personas such as new parents or home cooks. The tool shows advertisers which personas view and interact with their campaigns most frequently and identifies those personas’ current interests.

The feature combines advertiser campaign performance data with Reddit Community Intelligence™, which converts Reddit’s 23 billion posts and comments into structured signals. Top Audience Personas will launch in the coming weeks.

“Max campaigns quickly became one of our most efficient levers for acquiring new customers efficiently on platform,” said Alexandra Mota, Performance Marketing Manager at Cozey. “We saw stronger ROAS (Return on Ad Spend) and lower CPA (Cost Per Action) without needing to constantly rebuild audiences or tweak optimizations.”

Reddit reported that Daily Active Uniques increased 19% year-over-year in Q3 2025, while ad conversions on the platform grew by more than 2x year-over-year, according to Reddit’s internal data.

Creative Asset Generation

Max Campaigns offers optional tools for generating creative assets. Headline suggestions use trending Reddit terminology, while thumbnail generation converts existing images to fit Reddit’s conversation placement format. Reddit plans to launch AI-based video cropping to facilitate video imports from other platforms.

“New advertisers are coming to Reddit each day,” said Jyoti Vaidee, VP of Ads Product at Reddit. “Max campaigns empower advertisers to launch high-performing ads in the right places on Reddit, while giving them insight into the audiences they’re reaching.”

Reddit is launching the Max Campaigns beta for traffic and conversion campaigns to select advertisers this week, with broader access planned over the coming months.
