Meta Introduces New WhatsApp Marketing, AI Features For Enhanced Business Capabilities

Meta introduced centralized marketing campaign management across WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram through Ads Manager and AI features. The new system allows businesses to use identical creative assets, setup processes, and budgets from a single dashboard. 

According to Meta’s announcement, companies can upload subscriber lists and either manually select marketing messages as a placement option or leverage Advantage+ AI optimization to distribute budgets across platforms for maximum performance. Status ads will also become available through Ads Manager.

Meta is developing Business AI capabilities that will enable personalized product recommendations and sales facilitation on company websites, with follow-up customer service via WhatsApp chat. The company announced it would soon extend Business AI features to more businesses in Mexico as part of its expansion strategy.

New Communication Options 

The WhatsApp Business Platform will receive communication upgrades in the coming weeks. Larger businesses will gain the ability to receive direct customer calls and initiate calls to customers who request contact. Voice messaging options and video calling capabilities will be added to the platform, supporting diverse communication needs such as telehealth appointments. These additions lay groundwork for future AI-enabled voice support. Businesses can implement these calling features by working with Meta’s partners.

According to Business Insider, these developments align with Meta’s vision of transforming WhatsApp into something bigger than a chat app, similar to Asian super apps like WeChat that allow users to shop, book flights, and access various services.

The updates aim to improve customer relationship management and operational efficiency for businesses of all sizes using the WhatsApp platform.

Meta has emphasized that these business features won’t compromise the privacy of personal messages, as the company maintains that private chats, calls, and groups remain end-to-end encrypted.
