Threads has rolled out a redesigned insights experience for creators, adding plain-language summaries and new performance benchmarks to the platform’s analytics tools.
The update adds a written summary explaining how each post performed. Creators will also see new insights indicating whether metrics such as post views, profile visits, or follows are “higher,” “typical,” or “lower” than their individual norm, giving them a baseline for comparison rather than a standalone number. The redesign also updates post- and profile-level metrics and adds a breakdown of views over time, letting creators see how their content is reaching followers versus non-followers.
The new insights experience will launch first for all creators in the U.S. on Threads before expanding to other markets globally. Meta said additional updates aimed at creator growth and audience engagement tools are planned over the coming months.
The overhaul follows a similar move on Instagram, which in April updated its own Insights interface with new tabs for engagement activity and audience demographics, along with share and skip rate data and a views-over-time metric. Meta has continued to make comparable investments in Threads-specific analytics since introducing the first version of an “Insights” dashboard for desktop users in August 2024, which prioritized a “views” metric over follower counts and segmented interactions between followers and non-followers.
The analytics update also comes as Threads continues to expand its base and its advertising business. The platform reported 500 million monthly active users in June 2026, up from 400 million as of January, and Meta began expanding ads on Threads to all users worldwide that same month following a year of testing. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has told investors that Threads has “a good chance” of reaching 1 billion users within a few years.
Threads has also leaned into creator- and community-facing features this year, including “Dear Algo” and “Your Algo,” tools introduced in February and June that let users adjust what appears in their feed, and expanded community features tied to the platform’s 500 million user mark.
