OBB Media and YouTube creator iShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins, are launching “Speed Goes Pro,” a six-episode premium series that places the streamer in direct competition with professional athletes. The series is debuting as the first premium ongoing content on Watkins’ channel, produced in collaboration with DICK’S Sporting Goods, per Complex.

Each episode pits the 2024 Streamer of the Year against world-class athletes in challenges based on their respective sports. While the complete guest roster remains undisclosed, Tom Brady and Kevin Durant are confirmed participants. The series taps into Watkins’ YouTube presence, which currently includes over 50 million subscribers.

The show establishes a multi-year brand ambassador relationship between DICK’S Sporting Goods and Watkins. In addition to the series, this partnership includes additional content, live events, and fan engagement initiatives throughout the term of the agreement.

“Speed Goes Pro” episodes will be released directly to Watkins’ existing audience rather than through traditional television channels. OBB Media founder Michael D. Ratner described the approach as “redefining how series reach their audiences and disrupt the traditional TV model.”

Previous Collaboration

The new series follows the March “Speed Shopping” campaign, which featured Speed alongside Tom Brady, Kevin Durant, Suni Lee, and Travis Hunter in athletic footwear promotions. That campaign reached over 70 million viewers across multiple platforms, including broadcast, streaming services, and social media.

“I’ve always said that with real training, I could go pro in any sport, and now I get to prove it by competing with some of the GOATs,” Watkins stated regarding the new series, expressing enthusiasm for the opportunity to learn from professional athletes.
