“Barefoot Contessa” host and cookbook author Ina Garten has launched her first official YouTube channel to debut a new video podcast, “Happy Hour With Ina Garten,” produced in partnership with Vox Media. The weekly show premieres Wednesday, September 16, with new episodes releasing every Wednesday at 5 a.m. PT.

Filmed and recorded in Garten’s New York City apartment, “Happy Hour” will feature conversations with guests from food, culture, entertainment, sports and the arts. Vox Media will handle sales, marketing and distribution for the series.

“I’ve always thought the best part of a great dinner party is the conversation, the stories you find yourself lingering over and listening in on. That’s how I want Happy Hour to be,” Garten said. “I get to invite people I’m curious to know more about to my home and get to know them, how they got where they are, what makes them laugh, and what they’re still figuring out. I want Happy Hour to feel like you’re right there in the kitchen with us, having a drink and joining the conversation.”

Lillian Xu, vice president of podcast business at Vox Media, framed the partnership around Garten’s existing audience. “For decades, we’ve all come to Ina for the recipes and stayed for the way she makes us feel,” Xu said. “As the consummate host, Ina has always known how to make people feel at ease, which makes for the best and most memorable conversations.”

The show follows a similar format to “Be My Guest,” the interview series Garten most recently hosted for Food Network and Discovery+ from her home in the Hamptons, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Garten spent decades as the face of Food Network’s “Barefoot Contessa” and has written 13 cookbooks, with a 14th, “Simply Ina,” due out October 20.

The show will also be distributed on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Instagram and TikTok, giving Garten a distribution footprint well beyond her television-era audience.
