Content Creator HugoDécrypte Ventures Into Youth Employment With New Job Site

France-based online media company HugoDécrypte, run by influencer and journalist Hugo Travers, has launched an online job media arm. The site, jobs.hugodecrypte.com, launched in collaboration with Élan, aims to connect companies with candidates for internships, apprenticeships, and entry-level roles from HugoDécrypte’s vast audience of young followers.

Major employers like SNCF Voyageurs, Decathlon, L’Oréal, STMicroelectronics, Doctolib, and Meetic have already posted roles on the new job board. These companies hope to leverage HugoDécrypte’s massive reach of 14 million followers across social media to target early career candidates.

“75% of our recruitments are young graduates, and 75% of the Hugo community is between 15 and 34 years old,” said Laurianne de Tredern, Recruitment Manager at Grant Thornton, Le Monde reports.

The launch comes as employers increasingly struggle to find qualified young talent. A 2023 survey by France Travail found that 61% of employers considered recruitment difficult last year, citing insufficient candidate numbers and branding issues as top challenges.

Travers, who started HugoDécrypte in 2015 on YouTube, announced the new jobs platform in a March 31 video. “This may be my most important decision since I’ve been on social media,” he said.

In addition to the job board, the site will feature career exploration content and practical guides for young adults on housing, finance, and administrative tasks. Around 15 companies posted roles within its first 24 hours.
