Goalhanger Launches Ventures Arm to Back Creator-Led Media Businesses

Goalhanger has launched Goalhanger Ventures, a new investment and partnerships division focused on backing creator-led media businesses across video, social, audio, live, and commercial platforms.

The launch marks the latest expansion for the London-based podcast and media company, which in March introduced “The Accelerator,” a three-month funded incubator for emerging digital creators offering up to £10,000 in content investment alongside mentorship and long-form IP development support.

First Deals

Goalhanger Ventures has made an equity investment in Invisible Media, the company behind digital media platform The Invisible Hand. Founded by Charlie Tymon, Invisible Media produces video content focused on economics, business, geopolitics, and culture. The company is also developing new formats, including “The Invisible Game,” centered on the economics behind everyday life and business decisions.

“With The Invisible Hand, we’ve already shown that younger UK audiences are engaging at scale with content about macroeconomics, business and geopolitics, proving there is a real appetite for serious ideas when they are delivered with clarity, energy and purpose,” Tymon said.

Goalhanger Ventures has also entered a commercial partnership with Backyard Cricket, a cricket content brand created by Yorkshire brothers James and Mark Wood. The pair began producing videos during lockdown and have since built an audience through content blending humor and cricket coverage. Under the agreement, Goalhanger will provide funding and strategic support across production, longer-form video, commercial partnerships, sponsorship, and merchandise, with both parties sharing in the commercial upside.

“James and Mark have already done the hardest part: they have earned a huge amount of attention by making cricket feel fun, personal, and culturally relevant online,” said Navid Behroozi, Executive Producer at Backyard Cricket. “Our job now is to help turn that momentum into a more sustainable business around the content.”

Company Context

Jack Davenport, co-founder of Goalhanger, said the new arm aims to provide creator-led businesses with infrastructure to scale without compromising their editorial identity.

“Our role is to help them scale thoughtfully, commercially and creatively, while protecting the independence, personality and quality that their communities already respond to,” he said.

Goalhanger generated more than 750 million full-episode views and streams across its 15-show network in 2025 and grew its paid membership base to more than 250,000. The company secured its first external investment earlier this year through a minority-stake deal with U.S. media investment firm The Chernin Group.
