True Crime Podcast ‘RedHanded’ Inks Distribution Partnership With Audioboom
Suruthi Bala and Hannah Maguire, hosts of the true crime podcast “RedHanded,” have signed an exclusive commercial and distribution partnership with podcast company Audioboom for their show.
The deal returns “RedHanded” to the Audioboom Creator Network, where it operated prior to the current agreement, according to the announcement. Audioboom will handle global sales, distribution, and growth for the show, which generates more than 30 million downloads annually.
“RedHanded” launched in 2017 and won Gold in the Listeners’ “Choice Award” at the British Podcast Awards for three consecutive years from 2021 to 2023. The weekly show covers true crime content for a global audience.
“RedHanded began its growth journey with Audioboom, so returning feels like a natural next chapter,” Bala and Maguire said in a statement. “The team understands our show, our audience, and the value of creator-led storytelling. This partnership gives us the infrastructure to reach new listeners globally and work with brand partners in a way that protects the integrity of what we’ve achieved so far.”
Catalog and Distribution Details
The partnership brings “RedHanded’s” archive of more than 400 main episodes to Audioboom’s network, along with the back catalog of previously paywalled “ShortHand” episodes. Audioboom will distribute and monetize all future episodes of both “RedHanded” and “ShortHand.”
Audioboom, ranked as the largest video podcast publisher globally according to the Podscribe Ranker, recently joined Spotify as a launch partner for the platform’s Distribution API (Application Programming Interface) for video podcasts.
“Welcoming ‘RedHanded’ back to Audioboom is extremely rewarding for our team because it affirms how committed we’ve been to building the world’s most robust and lucrative offering for podcasters,” said Brendan Regan, Chief Content Officer at Audioboom.
The podcast will be available on Spotify, YouTube, and other platforms.
