Streamer TenZ to Host Coinbase’s New ‘VALORANT’ Tournament for a Bitcoin Grand Prize

“VALORANT” streamer TenZ will host Coinbase One Shot, a new 1v1 tournament running best-of-one matches across Europe and North America before sending finalists to an in-person championship in New York City on October 25 and 26. The winner takes home one Bitcoin, and both grand finalists receive tickets to VCT Champions 2027.

As reported by Shane the Gamer, the tournament splits into two entry paths: Creator Cups reserved for creators and streamers, and Open Qualifiers open to the wider competitive field. Both regions run their own version of each. Creator Cups take place on September 13, with Europe starting at 16:00 CEST and North America at 14:00 PDT. The Open Qualifiers follow later in the month, with North America on September 26 and Europe on September 27. Coinbase’s tournament page states that the top two finishers from the Creator Cups and Open Qualifiers advance to the New York finals, though it does not specify a total finals field size. Registration for each event closes 48 hours before it begins.

TenZ’s own announcement framed the event as open to anyone, pointing entrants toward the public Open Qualifier route, while the Creator Cups remain specifically for creators and streamers. Coinbase’s website describes the format directly: “1 V 1. BEST OF ONE.”

Coinbase One Shot builds on a partnership between Coinbase and Riot Games that dates to May 2025, when Riot named Coinbase an official partner of “VALORANT” and “League of Legends” global esports events and its exclusive cryptocurrency exchange and blockchain technology partner. That deal began at VCT Masters Toronto in June 2025 and has since included the Econ Report broadcast segment, which breaks down team economy decisions during “VALORANT” matches, along with fan giveaways such as trip sweepstakes to VCT Champions Paris and in-game cosmetic drops.
