ShopMy Backer Inspired Capital Closes $450M Fund, Points to Creator Commerce as a Core Bet

Inspired Capital has closed its fourth fund at $450 million, bringing the New York venture firm’s total committed capital to more than $1.3 billion, and is framing creator-led commerce as one of the growth areas it intends to keep backing, the company announced.

The firm, founded in 2019 by Alexa von Tobel and Penny Pritzker, invests across sectors including AI infrastructure, healthcare, defense, fintech and robotics. But its most visible position in the Creator Economy is ShopMy, the creator-commerce platform it has backed since leading its Series A in November 2022. ShopMy connects fashion and beauty brands with creators who monetize product recommendations through affiliate links, curated storefronts and brand partnerships. The company raised $70 million led by Avenir in October 2025 at a $1.5 billion valuation, at a time when it was reporting more than $1 billion in annual sales through creator referrals and 200% year-over-year revenue growth.

“Creators are increasingly becoming the front door and storefront for commerce, not just an advertising channel,” von Tobel told WWD. “Shoppers increasingly find brands through people they trust, not through department stores or search, and we believe in a world increasingly filled with AI noise that this dynamic will only become stronger.”

She also pointed to a shift in how much influence creators could have over the products themselves. “Creators can see what audiences actually buy, so the line between them as a ‘channel’ and ‘brand’ is blurring,” von Tobel said. “We expect creators to increasingly shape what gets made, whether that be creator-led brands or partnerships.”

Von Tobel cited Hill House Home, founded by Nell Diamond, and Saie, founded by Laney Crowell, as examples of brands whose growth is tied to a founder’s personal influence. She said spending on creator content and user-generated content could eventually rival established channels such as search and paid social, though she noted brands still lack some of the tools needed to manage it effectively.

Alongside the fund close, Inspired is launching a revenue-focused platform intended to help its portfolio companies scale. “We’ve helped companies grow from their earliest days to hundreds of millions in revenue, and our ambition as a firm has only grown as we launch our revenue practice, helping our companies scale even faster,” von Tobel said in the announcement.

The firm’s broader portfolio includes 10 companies valued at $1 billion or more and 10 that have surpassed $100 million in annual revenue, including Allen Control Systems, Dandy, Suno, Rho, Solace and Stand. Its exits include Teamshares’ Nasdaq listing and MosaicML’s acquisition by Databricks.
