RM11: A ‘Luxury Hotel’ Approach To Creator Monetization
RM11 is a content monetization platform offering creators a 90% revenue share, enhanced privacy controls, and personalized support through a “luxury hotel” experience for both them and their audiences.
Founded in August 2024 by Natalie May, this Dallas-based company recently secured $2 million in seed funding and appointed Marston Hefner (son of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner) as Category Manager.
“Existing platforms are restrictive, outdated, and built with ‘fans’ in mind,” Natalie explains. “My focus is on the creators, ensuring they have the freedom, empowerment, and earnings they deserve while their followers enjoy a premium experience.”
Natalie brings practical entrepreneurial experience to this vision. Her background includes executive roles at a hospice software company, a messaging app, and a retail subscription box service, alongside a five-year stint as a business consultant at Accenture working with tech giants like Apple, PayPal, and eBay.
RM11 emerged from a methodical research process. “We spent extensive time interviewing creators while building our platform to address the features and qualities lacking from other platforms,” Natalie shares.
Marston joined the venture in February 2025, serving as “the face of the company.” His duties include the press, interviews, podcasts while also strategizing ways to grow the business in terms of aesthetic appeal, social media, and gaining users.
“As the son of Hugh Hefner, growing up in an environment that was both shaped by Playboy’s pioneering impact on adult content and the larger cultural conversations around it, I’ve seen firsthand the power of challenging societal norms and advocating for creators,” Hefner states. “What makes my perspective even more relevant for RM11 is my experience as a creator on the platform. I understand the creator’s side of the story.”
The ‘Luxury Hotel’ Experience
RM11’s conceptual framework is based on a “luxury hotel” model, where creators are “hosts” and their followers are “guests.”
“The ‘luxury hotel’ concept behind RM11 was designed to create an exclusive destination that offers an elevated experience and a more mysterious vibe, with a concierge-like level of support for both creators and their fans,” Natalie and Marston explain. “Unlike other platforms that feel more transactional, we wanted our guests to feel the same level of service they would feel checking into a high-end hotel with premium service, a VIP experience, and a beautiful platform to showcase their work.”
This branding choice deliberately moves away from the “utilitarian, often impersonal” nature of many content platforms.
Creators Come First
Perhaps the biggest differentiator is RM11’s revenue model, which allocates 90% of earnings to creators—a contrast to the 50-80% offered by many competing platforms.
“The 90% payout is essential because the creators drive the platform’s success — they create the content, drive the traffic, and generate the revenue,” Natalie and Marston emphasize. “Other platforms take a larger percentage of the creator’s earnings, limiting their ability to invest in their content and continue to grow.”
This high payout percentage might raise questions about RM11’s sustainability. The duo addresses this: “We sustain this model by prioritizing smart cash flow management, maintaining a lean team, and focusing on sustainable growth.”
Privacy and Exclusivity
Unlike traditional platforms with search and browse functions, RM11 is invite-only and lacks browsing features or fan sharing.
“The main differentiating factor is our exclusivity where creators can only be discovered via their direct link — there is no search bar or browsing feature,” Natalie and Marston point out, adding that this design choice enhances privacy for both creators and their audience.
Technical privacy measures include encrypted user data, two-factor authentication requirements, and integration with DMCA services to protect creators’ content from unauthorized distribution.
Monetization Tools Outside Subscriptions
RM11 offers multiple revenue streams for creators beyond the standard subscription model:
- Live stream ticket sales
- Pay-per-view content
- Video call fees
- “Flirts” (tips that users can send directly to creators)
- Integration with Lovense devices for interactive experiences
Security and Moderation Balance
Due to operating in content categories that include adult material, RM11 is paying attention to both creative freedom and responsible policies. The platform preserves this balance as follows:
For age verification, the platform integrates with Yoti to ensure all creators meet age requirements while maintaining privacy and security. Content moderation combines AI tools that monitor for prohibited content with a restricted word list aligned with the platform’s Terms of Service.
“At RM11, we believe that freedom of expression and community respect can coexist,” Natalie and Marston state. “Our concierge-style support team personally handles concerns, ensuring that any violations—such as harassment, non-consensual content, or inappropriate behavior—are quickly addressed.”
Challenges and Industry Position
Despite the clear value proposition, RM11 faces challenges common to any new platform–building a mass to create network effects while establishing its brand identity in the marketplace.
Natalie and Marston emphasize RM11’s broader positioning: “RM11 is focused on branding itself as a creator-first platform across all categories, designed to provide elevated and professional experience for both users and creators. Our goal is to push past outdated industry barriers and create a platform where creators can thrive without limitations.”
The platform’s launch with $2 million in seed funding provides a runway for growth, though the team note they are focused on sustainable expansion rather than scaling at the expense of user experience or platform stability.
While RM11 supports adult content creators, Natalie and Marston reveal that the platform is designed for creators across all categories.
“Our platform goes beyond just adult content,” May clarifies. “We created RM11 to offer a safer, more elevated space with fairer revenue splits for creators across all categories.”
This broader positioning aligns with May’s vision of the platform’s role in the evolving creator economy: “RM11 is positioned to be a key player in the global shift toward destigmatizing adult content creation by creating a professional, creator-first platform that emphasizes respect, autonomy, and fair earnings for creators.”
Destigmatization
Marston sees RM11 playing a role in normalizing creator work across content categories: “As a female-founded platform, RM11 is focused on offering creators, especially women, the autonomy, support, and respect they deserve. I’m excited to be part of a platform that’s redefining the industry by putting creators first and contributing to the destigmatization of adult content or any type of content for that matter in a way that feels both modern and respectful.”
For creators considering the platform, the duo offers a straightforward perspective: “This platform is built with you in mind. We prioritize your success with higher payouts, extensive privacy measures, and personalized support every step of the way. We understand the challenges creators face, and at RM11, you’re not just a user; you’re a partner.”
“We believe that creators deserve recognition and respect,” Natalie and Marston conclude, “and RM11 helps to normalize the profession by providing tools and a community that elevates it beyond stigmatization. We will continue to be at the forefront of advocating for more acceptance, inclusivity, and professional recognition for content creators across all niches around the world.”
