Ogilvy Singapore Hosts Inaugural Creator Camp
Ogilvy Singapore hosted its first Creator Camp on July 31, bringing together aspiring and established creators, brands, and industry representatives for a day-long immersive workshop. The initiative aimed to strengthen the creator economy by providing education, networking opportunities, and practical experience.
The Singapore edition focused on equipping participants with essential tools for success in digital content creation. Sessions covered personal branding, creative uniqueness, and business fundamentals for creators, Campaign Brief reports.
“Creator Camp was more than just a workshop; it was a vibrant ecosystem of learning, collaboration, and innovation,” James Baldwin, Head of Influence APAC at Ogilvy, said in a statement. “We believe in nurturing a sustainable creator economy beyond campaigns.”
The event featured platform-specific training from YouTube, Meta, and TikTok, offering strategies on production, AI integration, and commerce opportunities through TikTok Shop.
One of the key takeaways from the event is that emerging creators lack awareness of financial obligations and risks associated with running a business. Ogilvy’s Commercial Director provided practical business advice during the workshop, emphasizing that agency and brand support builds stronger, more sustainable partnerships.
Content creator Hubert Lee noted: “My biggest takeaway was to always keep an open mind when it comes to collaborations, and to view content creation as a scalable business rather than a one-off gig.”
Regional Expansion Plans
The Singapore Creator Camp follows a similar initiative in the Philippines, where Ogilvy recently held its second annual Creator Camp focused on transforming content creators into entrepreneurs.
“The creator economy is booming,” stated Elly Puyat, CEO of Ogilvy Philippines, regarding their event. “But for creators and influencers to truly thrive and build lasting legacies, they need to transcend the role of content producer and embrace that of a business leader.”
Ogilvy plans to expand the Creator Camp model throughout Asia and globally.
Sanna Britsman, Senior Director of Global Planning Solutions at TikTok, who participated in the Singapore event, highlighted the importance of understanding effective collaboration: “Creators play a vital role in the TikTok ecosystem, and they’re a gateway for brands to achieve high-quality entertaining and engaging content.”
