Netflix Secures Exclusive Video Rights To 15+ iHeartMedia Podcasts Including ‘The Breakfast Club’ And ‘My Favorite Murder’
Netflix and iHeartMedia have announced an exclusive video podcast partnership that brings more than 15 industry shows, including “The Breakfast Club” and “My Favorite Murder,” to the streaming platform starting in early 2026, marking Netflix’s second major podcast deal following its October agreement with Spotify.
The partnership grants Netflix exclusive video distribution rights to iHeartMedia’s podcast lineup, while iHeartMedia retains all audio-only rights and distribution. The shows continue to be available on iHeartRadio and everywhere else where the podcasts are heard, according to the press release.
“Audio podcasting has been the fastest-growing medium over the past 20 years, and now we’re thrilled to expand that experience with an exciting new category – video podcasts,” said Bob Pittman, CEO of iHeartMedia. “Netflix has a leading video-first service, and this partnership perfectly complements our strong audio foundation.”
The agreement includes all new episodes from the podcast lineup, as well as select library episodes from each show. New video podcast episodes launch on Netflix in early 2026 in the United States, with more markets to follow.
Featured Shows and Talent
The lineup includes “The Breakfast Club,” co-hosted by Charlamagne tha God, DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, and Loren LoRosa, which recently surpassed one billion downloads.
“My Favorite Murder,” featuring hosts Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark, has approximately two billion lifetime downloads. Other shows include “Bobby Bones Presents: The Bobbycast,” hosted by the youngest-ever National Radio Hall of Fame inductee; “Dear Chelsea” with Chelsea Handler; and “Joe and Jada,” featuring Grammy-nominated artists Fat Joe and Jadakiss.
Comedy content includes “This Is Important” with “Workaholics” stars Adam Devine, Anders Holm, and Blake Anderson. The mental health category features “The Psychology of Your 20s,” hosted by Jemma Sbeg.
The history and true crime category includes “Behind the Bastards” with host Robert Evans, “Buried Bones” with journalist Kate Winkler Dawson and retired investigator Paul Holes, and curiosity-focused shows “Stuff They Don’t Want You to Know,” “Stuff You Missed in History Class,” and “Stuff to Blow Your Mind.”
Sports and culture content includes “New Rory & MAL” with Jamil ‘Mal’ Clay and Rory Farrell, and “3 and Out with John Middlekauff” featuring former NFL scout John Middlekauff.
Netflix’s Video Podcast Strategy
“With this partnership, we are incredibly excited to offer our members such an unmatched variety and to deliver highly entertaining podcasts featuring some of the world’s most dynamic personalities,” said Lauren Smith, Netflix VP of Content Licensing and Programming Strategy.
The iHeartMedia deal follows Netflix’s October partnership with Spotify for video versions of more than a dozen podcasts from Spotify Studios and The Ringer, including “The Bill Simmons Podcast,” “The Rewatchables,” and “Conspiracy Theories.”
Netflix told potential partners it wants to have 50 to 75 shows when its video podcasts launch in early 2026, with plans to build that number to as many as 200 over time, according to Business Insider, which cites two dealmakers familiar with the discussions. The streamer has explored potential agreements with individual podcasters, including Alex Cooper of “Call Her Daddy,” and has been looking to hire a video podcast executive.
An Edison Research report in July found that 51% of people in the U.S. aged 12 and up have watched a video podcast, with 37% having watched one in the previous month.
The iHeartMedia deal notably excludes some of the company’s other top 50 podcasts, including “Stuff You Should Know,” “Club Shay Shay,” and “On Purpose with Jay Shetty,” Business Insider notes.
