MMA Promotion Signs Mexican TikTok Phenom With 6.8M Followers And Viral Armbar Finish

Combate Global, top Latino-focused mixed martial arts promotion, signed Mexican social media sensation Luis “Pride” Escudero, Ringside Intel broke the story. 

The 24-year-old fighter has amassed over 6.8 million followers across TikTok and other platforms. Escudero holds a professional MMA record of 3 wins and 2 losses.

His debut for Combate Global comes on May 18 against fellow prospect Carlos Cordoba in a featured featherweight bout in Miami, airing on FuseTV. Escudero is known for a viral 2022 armbar submission finish over Juan Campos at Ultimate Warrior Challenge 47 that came just over one minute into the fight.

Cordoba has twice competed for Combate previously, suffering losses to Carlos Calderon and Moses Diaz in 2022. The May 18 event features a main event between Patrick Lehane, 7-2, and veteran Ivan Castillo, who has 24 career wins.

According to Ringside Intel, 24-year-old Lehane positioned himself as one of Combate’s rising stars with back-to-back upsets in a 2021 European tournament upon his promotional debut. This Saturday, Combate hosts another event headlined by Alejandra Lara vs Gisela Luna, with Mauricio Rios and Jimmie Pace Jr. also competing.
