Macao is preparing to host CreatorWeek Macao 2025, a major international influencer convention scheduled from October 24-28. The event, jointly organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office and international media production company Branded, will feature 180 content creators from mainland China and around the world.
Local content creators can now apply to become official ambassadors for the event through September 12. Applicants must be Macao residents over 18 with an active social media account. The selection process requires submission of an original three-minute video themed “One Day in Macao,” introducing a travel itinerary narrated in English.
Twenty selected ambassadors will work with international influencers to create bespoke itineraries showcasing Macao’s attractions. This collaboration aims to provide local creators with professional development opportunities while helping international participants gain deeper insights into Macao’s cultural landscape.
Event Structure and Partnerships
The five-day event includes a free Creator Festival on October 25-26 featuring live music, fan meet-and-greets, and wellness workshops. The final two days will focus on business aspects created via the CreatorWeek Conference, offering industry insights and networking opportunities.
YouTube and Gushcloud International join as supporting partners alongside Macao’s six casino concessionaires. Collectively, the participating creators and industry leaders have a reach of about 300 million followers.
Following its 2024 debut in Singapore, CreatorWeek aims to position Macao as a bridge between Eastern and Western creative industries. The city’s unique heritage as a 500-year cultural crossroads between China and Portugal makes it particularly suited for this role.
The event leverages Macao’s UNESCO World Heritage status and its historical significance as a trading port that has facilitated cultural, scientific, and technological exchanges in the past. Officials anticipate the convention will enhance Macao’s profile as a tourism destination, particularly among younger travelers, while promoting its status as a hub for multicultural dialogue.
Program details and participant announcements are forthcoming.
