Creator Commerce Agency SuperOrdinary Debuts First Microdrama in Partnership With TikTok

SuperOrdinary, a Los Angeles-based creator commerce agency, released its first scripted microdrama on October 8 through its new in-house entertainment studio SuperLab, with the 44-episode series premiering exclusively on TikTok.

The series, “Caldwell Academy,” is set at an elite boarding school and follows student president Eden Clarke and lacrosse star Beckett Langford through an enemies-to-lovers romance complicated by ambition, secrets, and betrayal. It is directed by Thomas Pallier and written by Adam Santa Cruz with Grace Swanson and stars Noah Fearnley, Grace Swanson, Shane Porter, Josi Raya, Mariah Moss, Molly Anderson and Adam Santa Cruz. SuperLab produced the series with Enzyme Films.

“Caldwell Academy” was developed as both a vertical microseries and a feature-length film. SuperOrdinary said three additional original series from SuperLab are scheduled to release before the end of the year, and a second season of “Caldwell Academy” is set to begin shooting in early 2027.

The move into scripted content adds a new line of business for a company built on creator-led commerce. SuperOrdinary works with brands including Disney, Farmacy, OLAPLEX, Touchland, Amore Pacific and H&M, operating primarily through TikTok Shop and Tmall with a network the company says includes more than three million creators and affiliates worldwide. The company reported $244 million in revenue in 2025 and has projected $300 million in revenue with a 41% gross margin for 2026.

In April, the company opened a private placement round to creators, operators, and partners that it described as its last financing step before pursuing an IPO, offering a 7% annual dividend, subject to the company’s ability to pay, with the option to convert holdings into equity at a 25% discount to a future IPO price. CEO and founder Julian Reis has pointed to TikTok Shop’s reported $15 billion in U.S. annual sales in 2025 as a benchmark for where the platform’s social commerce business could go.

SuperLab’s launch extends that TikTok-centric strategy from commerce into original entertainment, pairing a serialized format built for the platform with the company’s existing creator and brand relationships.
