AI Search Visibility Index: TikTok Shop Agencies, May 2026

TikTok Shop agencies are increasingly being discovered through AI search, with visibility concentrated among the top-ranked firms when brand-side buyers turn to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google’s AI products to research the category.

To better understand this shift, Net Influencer has partnered with AEO/SEO agency Grow and Convert, leveraging their Traqer AI Visibility platform to do a deep dive on which TikTok Shop agencies AI models surface when brand marketers, ecommerce operators, and DTC growth leads ask for recommendations. According to Grow and Convert’s analysis, 57 agencies surfaced across a standardized set of buyer-style queries run on five major AI platforms, with visibility heavily concentrated at the top of the list.

The analysis tracked how often each agency appeared in AI responses to seven prompts run across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, and AI Mode.

Methodology

Prompts ranged from broad (“TikTok Shop agencies”) to specific buyer queries (“We want to start selling on TikTok Shop but have no idea how the affiliate and creator side works. Are there agencies for this?” and “We’re seeing competitors blow up on TikTok Shop and want to get in. What kind of agency should we be looking for?”). The query set was designed to mirror how brand marketers and ecommerce operators actually research the TikTok Shop agency arena before making contact.

The Universe of Agencies

According to Grow and Convert’s analysis, 57 agencies were mentioned at least once across all 35 query runs. That figure represents the full set of firms AI models considered worth surfacing for buyers asking about TikTok Shop services. The broader field of agencies offering TikTok Shop services includes many more firms, meaning the majority did not surface in any AI response across the tested queries.

How the Visibility Score Works

Each agency’s visibility score reflects the percentage of total query runs where it appeared in an AI response. An agency that surfaced in every query would score 100%. An agency that surfaced in roughly half would score 50%.

Grow and Convert segments visibility scores into four ranges:

  • 60% and above (Default Recommendation): The model cites the agency across most queries on most platforms. Buyers running almost any version of an agency search will encounter the name.
  • 30% to 59% (Strong Consideration Set): The agency reliably surfaces on multiple platforms for multiple query types. Buyers will see the name often, depending on phrasing and platform.
  • 15% to 29% (Selective Visibility): The agency shows up for specific queries or specific platforms. A buyer might encounter the name once across several searches, or not at all on certain AI engines.
  • Below 15% (Long Tail): The model surfaced the agency once or twice across 35 runs. Buyers running a small number of searches have low probability of seeing the name in their results.

The Top 10

No agency in the top 10 cleared the default recommendation threshold. Four agencies sat in the strong consideration tier. Three agencies appeared in selective visibility territory. The remaining three fell into the long tail despite ranking in the top 10, reflecting the overall low concentration in this category. Every agency outside the top 10 also fell into the long tail.

What the Data Shows

Avenue Z led all tracked agencies at 46% visibility, nine percentage points clear of second-place MuteSix at 37%. No agency in the category cleared 60%, and the top four are separated by only 15 percentage points, indicating a more compressed field at the top than in some comparable verticals.

AI Mode was the strongest platform for nearly every top-10 agency, appearing as a primary or secondary platform across all 10 ranked firms. By contrast, ChatGPT produced only 16 total mentions across all 35 query runs, the lowest of any platform tested, suggesting the TikTok Shop agency category is disproportionately indexed on Google’s AI products relative to other AI engines.

Several agencies in the long tail are either TikTok-certified partners or listed in TikTok’s official partner directory, including firms like Sociallyin, Tinuiti, and Power Digital. The rankings indicate that official platform certification doesn’t directly correspond with AI recommendation frequency in this category.

Concentration and Drop-Off

The drop-off from the top-ranked agencies to the rest of the field is steep. Avenue Z sits at 46%. By rank 11, Ubiquitous scores 11%. By rank 12, Blue Wheel Media reaches 9%, and the field drops to 6% for the next tier before falling to 3% for the majority of the list.

Four agencies cleared 30% visibility. Seven scored 20% or higher. The remaining 50 scored at 14% or below, with more than half of all ranked agencies scoring 3%, the floor of the dataset. The top four agencies (Avenue Z, MuteSix, AdQuadrant, and The Influencer Marketing Factory) account for a disproportionate share of total mentions in the dataset.

The bottom tier of the 57 ranked agencies scored 3%, indicating those firms appeared once across all 35 query runs.

According to Grow and Convert, this level of concentration exceeds the gap between top and bottom rankings observed for comparable query sets in traditional Google search results.

Platform Distribution

Total mentions varied considerably across the five AI platforms tested. AI Mode produced the highest total at 60 mentions, followed by Perplexity at 36, AIO at 32, Gemini at 22, and ChatGPT at 16. The gap between AI Mode and ChatGPT is the largest platform differential observed across the verticals covered in this index series. Multiple agencies showed meaningful presence on AI Mode while recording no appearances on ChatGPT, indicating that AI search visibility in this category is particularly uneven across engines.

Citation Sources

The data also tracked which domains AI models referenced when generating their answers. The most frequently cited sources included avenuez.com (16 references), shipfusion.com (13), reddit.com (11), tiktok.com (10), and harvestgroup.com (9). A mix of agency-owned content, TikTok’s own platform resources, and aggregator-style listicles accounted for a major share of the source material AI models drew from when forming agency recommendations.

Methodology Note

Rankings were generated by Grow and Convert using seven prompts run across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, and AI Mode. Prompts covered general agency searches and specific buyer queries related to TikTok Shop setup, affiliate and creator management, conversion optimization, and competitive entry into the platform. A mention is counted when an AI response names the agency in its answer. The visibility score reflects the percentage of the 35 prompt-platform runs where the agency appeared. Citation source data captures which domains AI models referenced when generating their answers.
