Drew Afualo’s ‘The Comment Section’ Podcast Moves to Acast, Adds YouTube

New York Times bestselling author and creator Drew Afualo is moving her weekly podcast “The Comment Section” to Acast. The show will also begin releasing full episodes on YouTube, expanding beyond its previous audio-only home.

“The Comment Section” launched in 2021 on Brat TV’s Past Your Bedtime YouTube channel before becoming a Spotify exclusive in April 2023. Each week, Afualo is joined by a guest for conversations spanning pop culture and comedy. Past guests include Chappell Roan, Cynthia Erivo, Megan Stalter, Trixie Mattel, Brittany Broski, Bretman Rock, Meghan Trainor and Jinkx Monsoon.

“Drew is one of the sharpest, most original voices in the creator space today,” said Yishai Seidman, Acast’s Director of Development. “‘The Comment Section’ is a show built on the kind of trust, authenticity, and genuine connection that we know audiences crave more than ever. That kind of narrative influence is incredibly valuable for advertisers too, and joining Acast is a perfect partnership for the show.”

“It’s been my pride and joy hosting ‘The Comment Section’ over the last five years as the show has grown and evolved into such an incredible forum,” Afualo said. “I’m so excited to partner with Acast for our next era and bring all the fun to so many more people on YouTube.”

Acast describes itself as the world’s largest pure-play podcast company, connecting more than 140,000 creators with over 4,000 advertisers globally.

Afualo has 8.1 million followers on TikTok and 1.4 million on Instagram. She published the New York Times bestseller “Loud: Accept Nothing Less than the Life You Deserve” in 2024, becoming the first Samoan woman to appear on the list. Her 2026 awards season red carpet coverage drew just over 56 million views across Instagram and TikTok, and both “The Comment Section” and her co-hosted podcast “Two Idiot Girls” were nominated at the 15th Annual Shorty Awards in the “Comedy Podcast” category.

According to Acast’s “2025 Podcast Pulse” report, nearly four in five global podcast consumers now both listen to and watch podcasts, and adding video to audio extends a podcast’s reach by 39%.
