NBC streaming service Peacock has hired Alex Cooper, creator of the hit podcast Call Her Daddy, to host “Watch with Alex Cooper,” an interactive viewing experience for the Paris 2024 Olympics. 

She will throw live watch parties on Peacock during high-profile Team USA events like soccer, gymnastics, and basketball at the Olympic Games from July 26 through August 11. The program utilizes a picture-in-picture format, with Cooper and special guests commentating and interacting with fans’ questions in real-time.

“Alex Cooper has built a massive audience by being original and unapologetic,” says Molly Solomon, Executive Producer and President of NBC Olympics Production. “She’s a vocal supporter of women’s sports, making her the perfect host to bring this innovative viewing experience to Peacock.”

A former athlete herself, Cooper expressed excitement about the upcoming format. “I am so excited to be partnering with NBC and Peacock to present this interactive watch-party format for the first time from the Olympics, designed to bring audiences even closer to the excitement in Paris. We are going to have so much fun,” she says. Cooper will also record her podcast from the French capital and create additional Olympics content for NBC.

“Watch with Alex Cooper” joins Peacock’s Gold Zone whip-around show as companion programming for the streamer’s Olympics coverage. In a Summer Games first, Peacock will stream every sport and all 329 medal events live.

New interactive features include Peacock Live Actions, allowing consumers to customize their viewing journey, and Peacock Discovery Multiview’s enhanced four-screen experience to easily navigate events.

The announcement highlights Peacock and NBC’s efforts to engage younger audiences with the Olympics through entertaining programs and popular personalities. “Watch with Alex Cooper” aims to provide an authentic viewing experience of Paris 2024 events.
