The Race has announced a series of leadership changes as the motorsport media company expands its coverage across Formula 1, MotoGP, and new verticals.
Fabricio Drumond will take on the role of CEO of The Race, adding to his existing responsibilities as CEO of RAFA Media, the holding company that owns The Race. Drumond previously spent five years at Axios, where he served as Chief Business Officer and President of New Ventures. In that role, he led brand partnerships, commercial strategy, business development, and expansion efforts.
Glenn Freeman, a founding team member, has been promoted to Chief Content Officer. Freeman has contributed to the outlet’s editorial, video, audio, and social operations since its launch.
Holiday Kinard joins from Maximo Capital, the principal shareholder of RAFA Media, as Chief Integration Officer, with responsibility for people, systems, operations, and organizational integration. Tim Scott continues as Chief Commercial Officer, overseeing partnerships, branded content, commercial strategy, and The Race Studios.
Co-Founder Departs
Andrew van de Burgt, who co-founded The Race Media in 2019, is leaving the company. “I am immensely proud of what has been achieved by The Race Media over the past six and a bit years,” van de Burgt stated. “Now is the right time for me to move on.”
The company also noted a planned expansion of its premium events strategy through The Race Business, developed in partnership with Axios Live.
Nii A. Ahene is the founder and managing director of Net Influencer, a website dedicated to offering insights into the influencer marketing industry. Together with its newsletter, Influencer Weekly, Net Influencer provides news, commentary, and analysis of the events shaping the creator and influencer marketing space. His tenure at Axios ended with the company’s acquisition by Cox Enterprises for $525 million in 2022.
