Jake Paul will face WBA lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis in an exhibition boxing match on November 14 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. The bout will stream live globally on Netflix, the streaming service announced.

Paul (12-1), who has amassed 28 million Instagram followers and 21 million YouTube subscribers, enters the bout following a unanimous decision victory over former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in June. That win earned Paul the No. 14 ranking in the WBA’s cruiserweight division, making him eligible to challenge for a world title.

The Paul-Davis matchup continues Netflix’s investment in live sports content. Paul’s previous bout with Mike Tyson drew 65 million peak streams, while Netflix reports the event averaged 108 million global viewers. The platform is also promoting the upcoming Terence Crawford vs. Canelo Alvarez fight on September 13.

Significant Size Disparity

Davis’ lightweight title will not be on the line due to the substantial weight difference between the fighters. Paul weighed 200 pounds for his last bout, while Davis currently competes at 135 pounds. The 65-pound disparity is complemented by Paul’s 6-foot-1 frame compared to Davis’ 5-foot-5 stature, giving Paul a nine-inch reach advantage as well.

“Yes, he is one of the top pound-for-pound boxers in the world, but my motto is anyone, any time, any place, against all odds,” Paul wrote on X.

Nevertheless, Davis (30-0-1) presents Paul’s most formidable challenge to date. The 30-year-old champion is known for his punching power, with 28 knockouts in his professional career. Davis most recently retained his lightweight belt with a majority decision draw against Lamond Roach Jr. in March. In January, Davis ranked eighth in boxing’s pound-for-pound rankings.

Paul’s previous opponents have faced criticism, consisting primarily of non-boxers including former NBA player Nate Robinson, MMA fighters, and a 59-year-old Mike Tyson. His only professional loss came against Tommy Fury in 2023.

The contracted weight, number of rounds, and glove size for the Paul-Davis exhibition have not yet been announced. Paul wore larger 14-ounce gloves and contested shorter rounds in his exhibition against Tyson.
