YouTube, Coachella Extend Exclusive Livestream Partnership Through 2030

YouTube and Goldenvoice have renewed their exclusive global livestream and content partnership for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, extending the deal through 2030. According to YouTube’s blog post, the platform will remain the sole global livestream destination for both festival weekends under the new agreement.

The renewal will carry the partnership past April 2027, signifying 15 years of Coachella streaming on YouTube. This year’s festival set a record for the most concurrent viewers in the event’s YouTube livestream history, according to the blog post.

The platform pointed to past broadcast moments as evidence of the partnership’s reach, including Beyoncé’s “Homecoming” set, BLACKPINK’s turn as the first Asian act to headline the festival, and a set from Justin Bieber built around his earlier music videos.

A Streaming Package Built for the Living Room

The extension locks in a product that has expanded well beyond a single video feed. YouTube streamed Coachella 2026 across seven simultaneous stages in April, adding 4K resolution for the “Coachella Stage,” “Outdoor Theatre,” and “Sahara” for the first time, with the “Quasar” stage carried in both horizontal and vertical formats. The company reported that more than half of last year’s total Coachella livestream watch time came from living room devices, a figure that shaped this year’s rollout of an expanded “Multiview” feature letting viewers watch up to four stages at once on a television while switching between audio feeds.

YouTube also used the festival to extend “Stations,” a linear-livestream product it has been testing with roughly 40 musicians, into a 24/7 channel called “Coachella TV” carrying archival sets and 2026 highlights. The festival also incorporated recently launched Gemini-powered conversational AI tools in YouTube’s TV app, which let viewers ask questions about a video through their TV remote and surface answers and deep links alongside the stream.

Coachella’s YouTube presence has also become a commerce and creator layer beyond the stream itself, with a “Watch With” series pairing creators such as Valkyrae and Kaniyia with selected performances, and a YouTube Shopping storefront selling limited-edition merchandise from artists including BINI, Laufey, and Young Thug.

Looking ahead to 2027, YouTube said it will continue building out behind-the-scenes access and exclusive artist content for the festival.
