YouTube Golf Group Good Good’s CEO Accuses Callaway of Coordinated ‘Media Blitz’ After Ad Scandal Fallout

Matt Kendrick, founder and CEO of YouTube golf group Good Good, publicly accused Callaway of orchestrating a “coordinated media blitz” against his company, days after the golf equipment maker ended its partnership with Good Good over a controversial ad.

“Interesting that @CallawayGolf asks us to make an ad then approves it then asks us to take the fall then drops us in a coordinated media blitz and covers it up by giving a million dollars away thinking everyone will be ok with it,” Kendrick wrote in a post on X.

As Business Insider reports, the post is the latest turn in the fallout from a co-branded ad promoting a Callaway driver. The spot showed Good Good cofounder Garrett Clark running toward fellow member Alexis Miestowski and shoving her to the ground, then standing over her and saying, “Do not touch my new driver,” before picking up the club and hitting a shot. The ad drew immediate backlash from viewers who said it depicted violence against women. Clark said the ad was meant as a riff on the film “Obsession.”

Kendrick and Callaway both apologized for the ad. Kendrick told Front Office Sports he had not seen the spot before it ran, and a person close to the company said two members of Good Good’s marketing team were let go. Callaway said in a statement that its “content review process was not comprehensive enough” and that it had “significantly strengthened” its approval procedures. The company also pledged $1 million to organizations focused on preventing violence against women and supporting survivors.

The damage has extended well beyond the Callaway partnership. Dick’s Sporting Goods pulled Good Good products from its shelves, Good Good withdrew as title sponsor of a PGA Tour event this fall, and the Golf Channel canceled the upcoming season of its reality series “Big Break,” which had planned to award its winner entry into that same PGA Tour event, according to Business Insider.

Good Good raised $45 million in 2025 from Creator Sports Capital, Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions, Manhattan West Private Equity and Sunflower Bank, and had been expanding its retail footprint through relationships with Target and Dick’s Sporting Goods. Earlier this year, Good Good also deepened a partnership with fellow YouTube-born sports brand Dude Perfect, licensing co-branded merchandise and sending its personalities on tour.
