Vigloo Launches Beta of AI Production Platform for Microdrama Creators

Vigloo, the South Korea-based microdrama platform, has launched a beta version of Vigloo Studio, an AI-native production platform that turns the company’s internal microdrama production workflow into a tool for outside creators. The launch marks Vigloo’s expansion from content distribution into creator infrastructure, following its Vigloo Partners performance and revenue-sharing platform.

Vigloo Studio consolidates the tools required to produce serialized short-form drama, a process the company said can otherwise require creators to juggle up to 15 separate applications across video, image, editing, and localization. The platform includes AI video generation with more than 90 directorial controls covering camera movement, lighting, action, sound, and mood, along with AI image generation, character creation tools for maintaining visual consistency across episodes, and community features for sharing and receiving feedback on AI-generated content.

“Microdrama is one of the fastest-moving storytelling formats in the world, but production tools have not been built for serialized, mobile-first stories,” said Neil Choi, CEO of Vigloo, in a press release. “Vigloo Studio brings together what we have learned from producing AI-powered short dramas ourselves and turns that knowledge into a platform for creators.”

The company said the platform draws on its experience producing AI-powered microdramas at up to one-tenth of traditional production costs, work it said has made genres including motorsport, sci-fi, fantasy and dark romance viable in microdrama format. Vigloo operates more than 400 titles across 10 languages through its distribution platform, which is run by SpoonLabs, a content platform company backed by Krafton and other venture investors.

The beta launch includes core creation and community features, with initial access limited to general users and hobby creators. Vigloo plans to expand access to professional creators, production studios and enterprise partners in later phases, alongside additional updates in the second half of 2026, including multi-episode production workflows, unified IP asset management and direct publishing integration with the Vigloo platform. Pricing runs on a credit-based model with tiered plans starting at $15.

Vigloo Studio enters a market where the platforms distributing microdramas, not the studios producing them, have generally held the leverage. ReelShort and DramaBox built the format’s current boom by fixing the distribution problem that sank Quibi, and both apps control the acquisition funnels that determine whether a series earns back its budget, leaving production studios as price-takers regardless of how cheaply they can shoot.

TikTok has been building out its own end of that chain in parallel, adding a Growth Max advertising tool for its Mini Dramas feature this month to help brands drive discovery and conversion on serialized content published through its Minis Center or Drama Center.
