Netflix Launches ‘House Of Streams’ Reality Series Featuring Content Creators Competing For Bitcoin Prize
Netflix has announced a new show, “House of Streams,” an interactive reality series that combines unscripted television with online content creation. The show features eight popular streamers and content creators living together in a villa for two weeks as they compete for a grand prize of one Bitcoin, per Variety.
Sports and entertainment presenter Nicole Holliday hosts the series. Holliday previously hosted major EA FIFA streaming tournaments and worked with Sky Sports. The series incorporates a fully interactive format with live chat features that allow viewers to engage directly with contestants.
Creator and director Mark Holland conducted casting sessions with streamers worldwide over two months. The production team screened applicants and interviewed candidates through three rounds, ultimately selecting eight contestants plus one backup from an initial pool of participants.
The eight selected contestants maintain a combined social media following exceeding 4 million across platforms. They represent diverse territories including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Contestants face various challenges and competitive activities while viewers participate in real-time decision-making.
Production and Distribution
Stream House Media Productions (SHriMP) produces the series with backing from the Malta Film Commission. Camelot Films facilitated the Netflix distribution deal and handles promotional efforts, with producer Luke Croft-Faulkner leading marketing initiatives.
The show premieres in the UK and Ireland on June 18. Netflix founder, producer, and CEO Matt Hookings positions the format as bridging digital-first content with traditional television audiences.
The streaming industry continues developing reality competition formats targeting content creators, with multiple platforms launching similar programming initiatives throughout 2025. Integrated Content Agency launched “NEXT,” a digital reality competition offering emerging streamers $75,000 to become “the next big streaming star,” which premiered in April across Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok Live platforms.
Netflix previously adapted the viral YouTube dating series “Pop the Balloon or Find Love” into “Pop the Balloon Live” in April, prompting criticism from fans.
