Billion Dollar Boy Group Appoints Advisory Board as It Targets $100M in 2027 Revenue
Billion Dollar Boy Group (BDB Group), a global creator marketing group, has appointed a five-member Advisory Board to support its next phase of global growth.
The board includes Deirdre Findlay, founder and CEO of Apex Strategic Advisory; Firdaous El Honsali, CMO of Noli; Nathan McDonald, co-founder of We Are Social; Phil Wieland, Non-Executive Chairman at Essenta; and Hughie Phillips, founder and Managing Director of MindsEye.
The board will advise BDB Group’s leadership on business strategy, innovation, financial planning, M&A activity and brand positioning as the group scales its global social and creator offering. Members have already been involved in two recent moves: the acquisition of Creator Authority, a B2B-focused creator marketing agency, and the repositioning of Billion Dollar Boy as a global social agency under its “Creator Instinct” framework.
BDB Group reported 24% global revenue growth over the past 12 months, with average client contract values rising 77% in the UK and 40% in the U.S. Following the Creator Authority acquisition, the group’s global revenue is forecast to exceed $100 million in 2027.
Findlay previously held C-suite and senior leadership roles at Google, Stitch Fix and Condé Nast, and has served as a board director at Sonos and at Olaplex, including during its sale to Henkel. She said creators have moved beyond being a channel to becoming how consumers discover, evaluate and trust brands, and that BDB Group’s opportunity is to “own creator strategy at the leadership level.”
McDonald co-founded We Are Social in 2008 and grew it into a company of more than 1,200 employees across 20 offices before leading it through a strategic sale and a subsequent private equity sale. He will advise BDB Group on business strategy, scaling its operating model and culture, and on acquiring and integrating founder-led businesses.
Wieland, a former Bain operating partner who has also served as CEO of Diversey and CFO of Brakes UK, will focus on financial strategy and M&A. Phillips, whose production company MindsEye worked on Argos’s mockumentary series Arghaüs, will advise on brand entertainment and production as BDB Group expands its creative and production capabilities.
El Honsali, who has held senior marketing roles at Unilever, L’Oréal and The Body Shop, will advise on brand building and social-first transformation. She said she has been a client of Billion Dollar Boy and had seen the quality of its output firsthand.
Ed East, global CEO and founder of Billion Dollar Boy, said the board members have already helped guide the group’s first acquisition and its ongoing transformation, and that they bring “fresh perspective and deep experience” as the group works to help brands turn social into commercial growth.
Founded in 2014, BDB Group includes Billion Dollar Boy, the creator entrepreneur platform FiveTwoNine, and the AI-powered influencer marketing platform Companion. Its clients include Heineken, Nike, Unilever, PepsiCo, and L’Oréal.
